Garrett Nussmeier’s comments about Kyle Field resurface ahead of LSU’s game at Texas A&M
Garrett Nussmeier would be advised to bring some earplugs for Saturday night’s showdown at Kyle Field.
Yes, the LSU quarterback knows full well that the Texas A&M crowd will be loud and proud for the primetime showdown on ABC that has serious College Football Playoff implications. But past comments by the Tigers junior QB probably won’t be forgotten by the Aggies’ 12th Man faithful when the game kicks off at 7:30 p.m. ET.
“Kyle Field is loud, yes, I’ll give them that, but it’s not Death Valley,” said Nussmeier earlier this year when he was asked to compare the 2 environments.

Fast-forward to Nussmeier’s weekly press conference on Tuesday, when he was asked again about the College Station crowd as the 8th-ranked Tigers get ready to face the 14th-ranked Aggies in a matchup of teams who’ve both won 6 in a row after a season-opening loss.
“Obviously, we acknowledge it’s a tough environment. It’s a tough place to play. It’s going to be loud, it’s going to be exciting,” said Nussmeier. “For us, we’re playing a football game this Saturday. Yeah, it’s going to be loud. … We’re focused on us. We’re focused on executing to the best of our ability and attacking our opponent.”
While Nussmeier appears to have done a little damage control with the whole Kyle Field-Death Valley thing, one would think the savvy 12th Man will be extra loud come Saturday night.
