Andrew Whitworth’s football career is missing just one thing. If Whitworth’s Los Angeles Rams win Sunday’s Super Bowl, the former LSU standout might hang up his cleats.
Whitworth, who turned 40 in December, was asked about potentially retiring if he picks up his first Super Bowl ring.
#Rams LT Andrew Whitworth was asked if he’d retire if his team wins the Super Bowl: “What an unreal way to walk off. I don’t think there’s anything else I would have to do.”

He was with the Bengals through the 2016 season, signing with the Rams ahead of the 2017 season. During his NFL career, Whitworth has been named first-team All-Pro twice (2015, ’17) and selected to the Pro Bowl four times (2012, 2015-17). He recently won the prestigious Walter Payton NFL Man of the Year award for 2021.
