It’s another week and another record for LSU QB Joe Burrow. This time, Burrow became the new record holder of passing touchdowns in the SEC, with 45. He passed former Missouri QB Drew Lock for the honor.

LSU quickly preserved the ball in the equipment case on the sideline with a quick stripe of masking tape.

Burrow broke the SEC single-season passing touchdown record of 44, which Lock set during the 2017 season. Burrow’s 23-yard touchdown pass to Ja’Marr Chase in the first quarter of the SEC Championship game against Georgia gave him 45 touchdown passes on the year.

Burrow in the regular season was 314-for-401 passing on the year, and had the most completions in the SEC. His completion percentage of 78.3 is tops in NCAA history, ahead of the 76.7-percent mark from former Texas quarterback Colt McCoy in 2008. His 4,366 yards are the most in SEC history, a mark he did last week over Texas A&M.

A swing pass to RB Clyde Edwards-Helaire passed former Kentucky star Tim Couch for an 11-yard game.

Couch had 4,275 passing yards during the 1998 season with the Wildcats.

If Burrow keeps playing this way, these records, and perhaps others, will be highlighted throughout the postseason.
