Joe Burrow had heard that LSU’s offense wasn’t that strong. But that opinion changed when he joined the Tigers this summer.

Burrow quickly realized that what he had heard was wrong.

“Coming from Ohio State, I know what talent is. I knew that coming in people told me that we didn’t have a lot of talent on offense,” Burrow said during an interview with 247sports.com. “I walk in this summer and see all these big, fast, strong guys. I knew we had the capability to be something special. Then when you see [offensive coordinator Steve Ensminger’s] offense, I knew that we could do it.”

LSU has gotten off to a 5-0 start and is ranked No. 5 in the country. And Burrow has been a big part of the Tigers’ early success.

Burrow has passed for 1,023 yards with six touchdowns and no interceptions. In last week’s win over Ole Miss, he threw for 292 yards and three touchdowns, both season highs.

Burrow and the Tigers look to continue their strong start when they travel to play Florida at 3:30 p.m. ET on CBS on Saturday. But Burrow knows this matchup is going to be a challenge.

“They are really, really good,” Burrow told 247sports. “It’s going to be a tough place to play, too. Everyone tells me it’s going to be really loud. I am excited to see what it has for us. But like with Auburn, we are going to have to put our big boy pants on. It’s going to be a tough, hard-fought battle.”
