Joe Burrow recently underwent a minor procedure (appendectomy) that caused him to miss a limited amount of time during training camp, but he’s back in action now and is once again expected to be among the best quarterbacks across the league in 2022.

According to several Bengals beat reporters, Burrow was carrying his helmet and wearing his jersey after a walk-through, something that indicated he had participated. Burrow has gone through sprints with the team since undergoing the procedure, but there is no timetable on his return as it currently stands and head coach Zac Taylor has said the team is “taking things day by day.”

This is a very minor procedure especially during modern-day though, so this is absolutely not something anyone should expect Burrow to be sidelined for an extensive period of time from. There has never been the premonition that Burrow will miss any regular-season time and it appears he will only be out for at least a part of the preseason after he missed the first game.

Burrow finished out the 2021 season with a 70.4% completion rate, 4,611 passing yards, 34 touchdowns and 14 interceptions.
