Joe Burrow has plenty of strong traits as a successful quarterback in the NFL. But according to Brian Callahan, the offensive coordinator for the Cincinnati Bengals, one of them stands out.
“There’s only so many people that have the self-confidence and earned respect to be able to do those types of things,” he said. “I think the best thing about Joe is he’s authentic to who he is. There’s nothing made up about him, there’s no pretense or falseness. Everything you see about Joe is who he is. He’s humble and hard working and … he just wears things he thinks are cool. He doesn’t really care much about what people think about it.”
Callahan also noted that Burrow has the respect of his teammates for how he goes about his business even apart from playing at an elite level.
“They love him to death, but they love him for who he is to them as a teammate, and a member of the locker room,” Burrow said. “His fashion and all those things, they’re fun to watch and I think he enjoys it. But really he just wears things he likes and people tend to respond to it.”
