Joe Burrow passed for 525 yards on Sunday in a 41-21 Cincinnati Bengals’ win over the Baltimore Ravens, and it put him at the top of the list of former SEC quarterbacks in the NFL.

Burrow’s performance was the fourth-highest ever, but he passed former Georgia QB Matthew Stafford, former Ole Miss QB Eli Manning, former LSU QB YA Tittle and former Mississippi State QB Dak Prescott, who are all in the 500-yard club. The highest single-game passing total in NFL history is Norm Van Brocklin’s 554 yards against the New York Yanks in 1951.

Burrow also set a franchise record for the most passing yards in a single game as he was 37-of-46 passing for 525 yards, 4 touchdowns and no interceptions. Burrow broke the record previously held by Boomer Esiason, who threw for 490 yards in an overtime game against the Los Angeles Rams on Oct. 7, 1990.

Burrow said the record was a reflection of the entire team’s performance and was necessary as the Bengals (9-6) swept the Ravens in the regular season for the first time since 2015.

“You know, I really don’t think about the yards too much,” Burrow said, per ESPN. “Whatever it takes to win the game. Today, it took throwing for 525 yards.”
