Kirk Herbstreit down on LSU after season-opening loss
Kirk Herbstreit now has a bleak outlook for LSU’s season.
The ESPN college football analyst said Monday on The Paul Finebaum show that the No. 5 Tigers could finish 7-5 if they continue the level of play they displayed in their 16-14 loss to Wisconsin.
Kirk Herbstreit, "if they (#LSU ) play the way they did Saturday night, they are going to go 7-5".

LSU’s national championship hype melted away as its sluggish offense struggled despite coach Les Miles’ promise of a revamped scheme. Some are even calling for Miles’ job after he nearly lost it last season.
I said before the season started that LSU would be lucky to go 9-3 this year. It didn’t take a rocket scientist to figure out that’s LSU was going to struggle because Harris isn’t a good QB, OL is average, DL is really thin and lacks talent (besides Godchaux). Lastly, Les and Cameron suck as coaches.
It amazes me how all the SDS staff actually thought LSU was a top 10 team lol. A retarded monkey would have known that LSU wasn’t that good.
I agree. Yes they are a dangerous, physical team to play against, but if you can’t score points nowadays in college football it is tough to keep up. I felt like 9-3 or 8-4 were more appropriate predictions before the season started. Im not sitting here saying i told you so, I’m just saying I’m not really surprised.
It amazes me how all the SDS staff actually thought Ol Miss was a top 15 team lol. The Noles hung 580 yards and 45 pts. on the Landtuna. A retarded monkey would have known that Ol Miss wasn’t that good.
rofl
and Ole miss is? FSU took them to the wood shed while Mr. “swag” kept turning the ball over. good luck going 6-6 this year
WOW…An Ole Miss fan talking smack about LSU…do not let a couple of years of success and a VERY brief stint in the Top 5 geaux to your head…The NCAA Infraction Committee is renting property on the Ole Miss campus for the long dark days ahead. Looks like your 15 minutes of fame are just about up…meanwhile the LSU machine is sputtering, but a simple coaching change to a person who DOES NOT play Big 10/Saban ball and all will be right in the SEC West.
Who is not down on LSU at this time? Those of us that high hopes for LSU did so believing Miles when he said there were going to be changes. Bringing in Craig was also seen as a positive move for Harris. Nothing has changed. LSU was 9-3 last season. If Harris stays at QB, that becomes the high water mark for the season and LSU has a new HC next year.
if Harris stays at QB and the OL doesn’t improve stat, 7-5 is realistic. He stays with an improved line, 9-3 is hopeful.
Gent’s calm down. Its week 1. We will be fine, just needed to get punched in our mouth and taste our own blood. Time to go work!!
GEAUX TIGERS!!!!
Only problem is, when you get punched in the mouth in the first game of the season against a decent team out of Conference, you have to now prepare for an iffy season… Wisconsin showed more physicality than LSU..
If this was a one-game trend, you’d be right. When it’s a multi-season trend…
Concur…
