Kirk Herbstreit has admittedly been hard on LSU this season as the Tigers are off to a disappointing start and coach Ed Orgeron is facing questions about his leadership and job performance.

But Saturday’s win over Florida changed that narrative, at least for one week, and the ESPN broadcaster was quick to serve himself some crow.

“Did NOT see this one coming,” Herbstreit wrote on Twitter. “I’ve been very tough on this team and their passion to play for the LSU brand-glad you shut me up.”

The Tigers did it largely behind Max Johnson, who had 3 passing touchdowns, and Tyrion Davis-Price, who had 3 rushing touchdowns in the 49-42 win over Florida. The Tigers were fueled by a 21-point second quarter, and absorbed a Florida comeback to score 28 points in the second half.

LSU improved to 4-3, while Florida fell to 4-3 on the season.
