Former LSU running back Leonard Fournette is no stranger to the damage hurricanes can cause.

Fournette experienced the pain of losing a home to a hurricane, when his house in Slidell, Louisiana was destroyed by Hurricane Katrina. He was not the only one. Thousands of others’ homes were wrecked across the state of Louisiana by the mighty storm.

Because of his prior experiences, Fournette was quick to help out people in need who are now dealing with a similar situation he went through. The current Jacksonville Jaguars donated $50,000 to the victims of Hurricane Harvey, hoping to alleviate some of the loss many have sustained.

Even dating back to his high school days, Forunette has been known to care for others. Back in 2013, Fournette was bestowed the Prep Player of the Year from the Greater New Orleans Quarterback Club. In an act of selflessness, the high school standout gave the award to another candidate, Eugene Wells.
