LSU is following up on a tradition for national champions as the Tigers have reportedly set a visit date to meet with President Donald Trump at the White House.

Elizabeth Crisp of The Advocate reported that the visit would be on Friday to celebrate LSU’s 42-25 victory over Clemson.

Trump attended the game in New Orleans, and sat with members of the Louisiana congressional delegation. Among them, U.S. GOP Whip Steve Scalise, an LSU grad from Jefferson, and U.S. Rep. Mike Johnson, a Shreveport Republican who also graduated from LSU, along with other Republicans from Louisiana and South Carolina.

A menu has not been released for the LSU trip. But the White House memorably served fast food from McDonalds and Burger King to Clemson’s championship-winning team last year during a long-stretching government shutdown. Trump said at at the time that he figured the players preferred it that way.

Trump also attended the LSU-Alabama game in 2019, and called coach Ed Orgeron after the Peach Bowl rout of Oklahoma, presumably to congratulate him on his team’s 63–28 victory.

Trump will likely have high praise for QB Joe Burrow, who he spoke highly during his multiple visits to Louisiana ahead of its gubernatorial election last year, the Heisman Trophy winner.
