LSU AD Joe Alleva adamantly against rescheduling plans, has unique Alabama demand
Anyone thinking LSU and Florida will cancel their out-of-conference games on Nov. 19 to make up last Saturday’s postponed contest can put that idea to bed.
“We have a home game November 19, and we’re going to have a home game on November 19,” LSU athletic director Joe Alleva said Monday during a news conference, repeating it twice for emphasis.
The LSU-Florida game was indefinitely postponed due to Hurricane Matthew making landfall last weekend, and many are calling for it to me rescheduled some way or another this season. The most popular option was Nov. 19, when the Tigers hot South Alabama and the Gators host Presbyterian.
Some have suggested the SEC and schools merely buy out those two opponents and make up the game in Gainesville, but Alleva made it clear he isn’t willing to part with a home game.
#LSU AD Joe Alleva: Our fans and city deserve a home game. We're not going to give up a home game.

Alleva addressed other scenarios for a potential make-up date, all the while maintaining that this is “a very difficult situation.”
Alleva says, yes, Dec. 3 is an option but a tough one because moving the SEC championship game is difficult. #LSU

#LSU AD Joe Alleva: "We have an open date before the #Alabama game. I'm not in favor of playing that day unless Alabama plays that day."

Alleva asked if frustrating to see others play: You know how I feel about that. I watch Ga-SC yesterday and wished we were playing. #LSU

Alleva said maybe the league needs to consider only division records if the game can't be made up.

So… #LSU-Florida scenarios:
– Oct. 29: LSU-UF plays but only if #Bama plays that week
– Dec. 3: LSU-UF play & SECCG moves back
