The LSU Tigers are the No. 19 team in the country and have yet to lose an SEC contest this season, currently sporting a 6-0 conference record.

However, their backcourt depth took a hit earlier this year when G Daryl Edwards injured his foot and had surgery.

Now, it appears Edwards will not only not return this year, but he’ll leave the program. Coach Will Wade said on Monday that Edwards is seeking a medical redshirt and will explore graduate transfer options:

Edwards appeared in nine games this year, but Wade said LSU’s deep backcourt played a part in his decision to transfer:

Edwards averaged 4.4 points, 1.6 rebounds and 1.2 assists in his nine games for the Tigers this season.
