It’s transfer portal season in college basketball, and another LSU big man will reportedly consider continuing his career elsewhere.

Efton Reid III is the latest Tiger to enter the portal, according to a report by Travis Branham of 247Sports. A Richmond, Virginia native out of the IMG Academy in Bradenton, Florida, Reid was rated 5-stars, the No. 3 center and No. 27 prospect overall nationally in the class of 2021 on the 247Sports Composite. Reid signed with Will Wade’s LSU program over 14 other scholarship offers, including Florida State, Pittsburgh, Virginia and NC State.

Reid was the only LSU player to star all 34 games in the 2021-22 season. Per game, Reid averaged 6.3 points and 4.3 rebounds over 19.6 minutes.

New LSU head coach Matt McMahon looks to have quite the roster makeover on his hands. Reid is the eighth Tiger to enter the NCAA transfer portal this offseason. Entering the portal does not bind a player to follow through with transferring out. Occasionally, players withdraw from the portal and return to the team. We’ll see what Reid and others elect to do.
