A week of sitting at home did LSU some good in the eyes of the College Football Playoff committee, as the Tigers jumped up to No. 16. LSU was ranked No. 19 a week ago in the initial poll, following a thrilling win over Ole Miss. LSU is ranked 15th and 16th in the Amway Coaches Poll and Associated Press Top 25, respectively.

The Tigers will have a chance to shake up the rankings this weekend when they take on No. 5 Alabama. The Crimson Tide moved up one spot from last week, thanks to Ole Miss’ second consecutive loss. The Rebels were ranked No. 4 a week ago despite their loss to LSU, but dropped to No. 11 after dropping another game to No. 3 Auburn.
