Jay Ward has announced plans for the 2023 season, and the veteran LSU defensive back is set to declare for the NFL Draft.

Ward made 56 tackles this season, with an interception and 4 pass breakups.

Last season, Ward had breakout season and ranked among team leaders in tackles with 71. He also started at 3 different positions in the secondary a year ago.

Ward thanked the man above along with his family, friends and LSU for helping him get this far.

“I will be pursuing a lifelong dream and declaring for the 2023 NFL Draft,” he wrote on social media.

Some of the highlights of Ward’s career were a highlight-reel interception in 2020 against Florida when he fell out of bounds, then re-established himself inbounds to pick off a Kyle Trask pass from his knees. That interception halted a Florida drive inside the LSU 20-yard line.

Then, in a win over Arkansas, he came off the edge and blocked a 44-yard field goal attempt that helped preserve an LSU victory.
