A standout of Acadiana High School, McKinley is listed as measuring over 6-5 and 280 pounds. On the 247Sports Composite, McKinley is rated 5-stars, the No. 6 defensive lineman and No. 27 prospect overall in the Class of 2024.
McKinley picked up scholarship offers from 27 programs during his recruitment. He had been committed to Texas A&M since Sept. 1. McKinley also showed interest in Tennessee, Oklahoma, Texas and Ohio State.
While many of the top recruits in the 2024 class signed during December’s Early Signing Period, prospects can still sign on National Signing Day in February or simply enroll for the spring semester.
Brian Kelly’s staff signed 28 commitments in December. The Tigers also added 3 players from the transfer portal. LSU’s 2024 recruiting class ranks No. 8 nationally on the Composite with McKinley on board.
