Michael Daugherty’s time at LSU has come to an end after a brief enrollment. The 2023 freshman signee took to social media on Saturday evening to announce that he has withdrawn from LSU and will enter the NCAA transfer portal.

Daugherty, out of Grayson High School in Georgia, committed to LSU on April 13, 2022. He signed with the Tigers on Dec. 21 and enrolled in classes for the spring semester. As a freshman student-athlete who has already enrolled, Daugherty will be using his 1-time transfer waiver to join a new team. The next window for transfer portal entry opens on May 1.

The LSU roster lists Daugherty at 6 feet, 171 pounds. During his recruitment, Daugherty picked up 43 scholarship offers. On the 247Sports composite rankings, he was rated 3-stars, the No. 52 safety, No. 54 Georgia product and No. 549 prospect overall nationally in the 2023 recruiting class.

We’ll see where Daugherty lands to start his college football career after an early exit from LSU.
