LSU is bringing a former Georgia defensive lineman back to the SEC.

On Monday, the Tigers gained a commitment from JUCO transfer Shone Washington, a New Orleans native. Washington announced the news on his X account:

A 3-star commit out of high school, Washington signed with Georgia and saw time in just 1 game. In April, he entered the transfer portal, ultimately going the JUCO route and joining East Mississippi CC of “Last Chance U” fame. While there, he totaled 26 tackles and 3 TFLs. He was later offered by LSU, Arkansas, Mississippi State, SMU, and Western Kentucky before committing to Brian Kelly and the Tigers.

Before signing with Georgia as a high-schooler, Washington was actually originally committed to play at LSU, pledging in August 2020. He remained in the fold until he reopened his recruitment in Jan. 2021, ultimately signing with the Bulldogs that December.

But after 3 years, Washington will be a Tiger after all.
