LSU landed a commitment Wednesday from one of the nation’s top defensive linemen for the class of 2022 in Shone Washington.

The New Orleans native (Warren Easton High School) committed to LSU over offers from Alabama, Ohio State, Oklahoma and Florida, among others. The 6-foot-3, 300-pound defensive tackle is rated a 4-star prospect and ranks as the nation’s No. 18 overall defensive tackle and the state’s No. 11 overall prospect for the class of 2022, according to 247Sports Composite Rankings.

He announced his commitment live on Fox 8 New Orleans.

LSU offered Washington on March 8, and he became LSU’s 6th commitment for the recruiting class. Ed Orgeron and LSU have the nation’s top recruiting class for the 2022 recruiting cycle. He became the Tigers first defensive line commit.
