LSU is undergoing a significant roster rebuild this offseason. Coach Will Wade has been fired and replaced with new coach Matt McMahon.
With possible NCAA sanctions looming like a dark cloud over the program, some players have entered the transfer portal and LSU’s recruiting classes have been completely depleted.
But, there’s some good news for McMahon. On Monday night, the Tigers landed a commitment from Northwestern State big man Kendal Coleman. Coleman announced his decision via Twitter:
Thank you to all the coaches that recruited me and gave me an opportunity but with that being said I will be furthering my academic and athletic career at LSU?? #gotigers pic.twitter.com/MA8WWN4jPg

Coleman was a standout player for Northwestern State the past 2 years. In 2021-22, he appeared in 30 games, starting all of them. He averaged 15.4 points and 10.1 rebounds per contest.
We’ll see what sort of role he carves out for himself in Baton Rouge.
