LSU is looking to improve via the transfer portal, and the Tigers are landing a key piece for the secondary ahead of the 2025 season.
On Saturday, the Tigers confirmed that they have landed a transfer from former Florida defensive back Ja’Keem Jackson. The former 4-star recruit is coming off an injury early in the 2024 season but was a starter to open the campaign.
Coming out of high school, Jackson was a 4-star prospect and the No. 7 CB nationally per the 247 Sports Composite. He was just outside the top 50 players nationally for the class of 2023 with a host of major offers.

Jackson was an immediate contributor for the Gators and appeared in 11 games as a true freshman. He logged 7 total tackles, 3 pass breakups and a QB hurry for Florida, including 2 tackles in the season finale vs. FSU.
Coming into the 2024 season, Jackson was a starter and made his first career start against Miami. Unfortunately, he sustained an injury in the 2nd game of the season vs. Samford, one of a slew of injuries to the secondary this year.
Now, Jackson is officially with LSU as we head into 2025. As long as his rehab and recovery go as expected, Jackson should step into a key role immediately for Brian Kelly and the Tigers.
