LSU lost a key piece of the 2025 recruiting class Sunday evening, and it comes from one of the best in-state prospects in the cycle.

The player is Jaboree Antoine, a top-100 player and one of the best players from Louisiana. Antoine previously committed to LSU in January but reopened his recruitment Sunday night following summer visits to Miami and FSU.

According to Hayes Fawcett, Antoine will keep LSU, Miami and FSU as programs he is focused on moving forward. There is currently no timeline or Antoine’s next decision.

Antoine is listed at 6-foot-1 and 170 pounds out of Westgate High School in New Iberia. According to the 247 Sports Composite, Antoine is a 4-star recruit, the 61st player in the country and the No. 6 CB nationally. He’s also the No. 2 player out of Louisiana for the cycle.

Impact for LSU

Losing a player like Antoine is never easy, but LSU has compiled the kind of recruiting class that can sustain a loss or two. Even with Antoine off the board, the Tigers still have 12 hard commitments and the 8th recruiting class nationally per the 247 Sports Team Composite.

Bryce Underwood, a 5-star QB and the nation’s top player, headlines the group. The Tigers also still maintain a trio of top-100 players for the cycle.

Still, LSU wants to keep the best players within the state, and Antoine fits that bill for the 2025 cycle.
