LSU will have everything on the line on Saturday night at its deafening home stadium.
It’ll be on national TV, against possibly its fiercest rival in Alabama, with its College Football Playoff hopes hanging in the balance since the Tigers already have 2 losses. Adding to the showdown is the fact that the Crimson Tide have 2 losses, too, so the primetime matchup on ABC amounts to a Playoff elimination game on the 2nd Saturday night in November.
The Tigers will be boosted by the energy of their home crowd at Death Valley, and on Saturday afternoon LSU named 2 team captains for the titanic rivalry showdown that will kick off shortly after 7:30 p.m. ET.
Senior running back Josh Williams and senior linebacker Greg Penn III were named the captains for this all-important SEC battle.

Interestingly, both Williams and Penn wear No. 18, so both of the players who wear that number will be the chosen leaders for LSU, with the Tigers having one team captain on offense and one on defense.
Williams has 62 carries for 241 yards rushing and 3 touchdowns so far this season.
Meanwhile, Penn has 32 solo tackles and 59 total tackles this season, along with 1.5 sacks and 2 forced fumbles.
Williams and Penn will hope to be difference-makers on either side of the ball, as Brian Kelly’s team desperately tries to hang onto its Playoff hopes while dashing Alabama’s.
