Brian Kelly’s staff pulled off a massive signing day flip. Solomon Thomas had been committed to Florida State since December 2023. On Wednesday, however, he announced that he will play for LSU.

Out of Jacksonville (Florida) Raines High School, Thomas is listed as measuring 6-4, 315 pounds. On the 247Sports Composite, Thomas is rated 5-stars, the No. 2 interior offensive lineman, No. 4 recruit in the state of Florida and No. 24 prospect overall in the Class of 2025.
Thomas was highly sought-after. He had scholarship offers from 34 programs, including Alabama, Auburn, Clemson, Kentucky, Miami, Ohio State, Ole Miss, Oregon, Penn State, South Carolina, Tennessee and Texas A&M.

Despite the long-standing verbal commitment to FSU, Thomas put hats on the table for Wednesday’s ceremony. He chose LSU over Florida and Florida State.

Soon after announcing his commitment to LSU, the program confirmed he has signed to play for the Tigers.
