LSU women’s basketball is safely through to Sunday’s SEC Tournament Championship, but the Tigers lost a key player during the semifinals.

During the game against Ole Miss, guard Last-Tear Poa sustained a scary injury and was eventually carted off the floor. The broadcast did not show replays of the incident but Poa was seen hitting her head hard on the floor after attempting to take charge.

According to reports, Poa was transferred to a local hospital for further evaluation. Her departure was certainly an emotional moment for the team, but the Tigers were able to regroup and respond.

Down the stretch, Flau’jae Johnson hit a dagger for the Tigers. She could be seen mouthing “That’s for Poa” with LSU clearly keeping their teammate in the front of their minds.

For now, the thoughts of the team will be on the well-being of Poa after that type of fall. Hopefully, she is able to recover quickly, but her absence will leave a big hole with the Tigers.
