LSU’s struggling defense is set to be without grad transfer linebacker Omar Speights on Saturday as the Tigers take on Missouri in Columbia, according to ESPN’s Pete Thamel.

Speights transferred from Oregon State in the offseason, where he made 83 tackles and 8.0 tackles for a loss in 2022 en route be being named to the Pac 12’2 all-conference 1st team. However, with the Tigers, he’s played in 3 games and missed 2 due to injury due to a hip flexor. He was able to play in Week 5, where he made 4 tackles in a 55-49 loss to Ole Miss.

The LSU defense needs major attention after being gashed against Ole Miss, with the Rebels collecting 706 yards on the evening. They’re facing a Missouri team that is 5-0 on the season and coming off a 38-21 win at Vanderbilt, getting them off to their best start in a decade.

Missouri-LSU is set for a noon ET kickoff from Faurot Field. The game will be televised on ESPN.
