LSU had some fun at Darren Rovell’s expense on Saturday night.

Tigers quarterback Jayden Daniels became the 3rd player in program history to win the Heisman Trophy, joining the great Billy Cannon and Joe Burrow. Shortly after Daniels was announced as the winner, LSU football’s official X (formerly known as Twitter) account dug up a tweet Rovell shared from back in November.

Rovell shared a photo of the LSU band in the formation of the Heisman Trophy and called it the “kiss of death” for Daniels’ Heisman hopes.

Here’s LSU’s response from Saturday evening:

LSU was trailing Texas A&M at halftime of that game, but Daniels made sure the Tigers weren’t going to lose on Senior Night. He led LSU to a 42-30 comeback win over the Aggies and finished the game with 4 passing touchdowns as well as 120 rushing yards.

Daniels beat out Washington’s Michael Penix Jr. for the award. Oregon’s Bo Nix and Ohio State’s Marvin Harrison Jr. were also finalists.

LSU will end its 2023 season on Jan. 1 against Wisconsin.
