LSU veteran DT suffers torn Achilles, out for season
LSU defeated Nicholls 44-21 on Saturday at Death Valley to improve to 1-1.
Despite the home-opening win, the Tigers’ defensive line room received some bad news. Jacobian Guillory suffered an Achilles injury in the game against the Colonels and is out for the remainder of the season.
Guillory, a 4-star prospect out of the class of 2020 and a Louisiana native, is in his 5th season with the program. He has totaled 52 tackles in his career. In 2023, he made 27 stops. He was slated to carve out a much bigger role for himself in his 5th year with the program, but with Saturday’s injury, LSU’s DL unit will be forced to move forward without him.
The Tigers, ranked No. 16 after the victory against the Colonels, will look to improve to 2-1 as they face South Carolina for their 1st true road contest of the season. The Gamecocks thumped Kentucky 31-6 on Saturday to move their record to 2-0 on the young season.

Tough blow to a Tigers defense that was already thin at DT.
