LSU is reportedly down two key defensive backs Saturday against Arkansas.
Brooks Kubena of The Advocate reports that Jordan Toles and Mo Hampton are unavailable for the Tigers. Both players back up Todd Harris. This presumably could lead to Cameron Lewis backing up both safety spots. JaCoby Stevens should still play.
It will be interesting to see if LSU can still be “DBU” missing two contributing safeties. The Tigers face an Arkansas passing attack ranked No. 8 in the SEC, averaging 240 yards per game through seven games.
Razorbacks starting quarterback Feleipe Franks has familiarity facing LSU in 2017 and ’18 when he was with Florida, going 1-1 in those games with a loss as a redshirt freshman and upset victory as a redshirt sophomore, both times in The Swamp.
LSU is coming off a COVID postponement against Alabama while Arkansas is dealing with significant absences from the virus this Saturday.
