Brothers tend to be competitive. That worked out well for LSU on Saturday in Fayetteville, Arkansas.
On the diamond, No. 4 Arkansas led No. 17 LSU 2-0 in the eighth inning before Tigers OF Antoine Duplantis launched a three-run homer, putting his team ahead 3-2. LSU would hold on for the win and avoid a sweep.

After his game-winning home run, Austin Duplantis went over to watch his brother, freshman Mondo Duplantis, competing in the SEC Track & Field Championships in Fayetteville. It’s a day that will be talked about in the Duplantis household for a long time as Mondo set the collegiate outdoor pole vault record by clearing 19 feet, 8 1/4 inches. He had previously set the indoor record.

The LSU men went on to win the 2019 SEC Outdoor Track & Field Championship. Mondo had quite the quote for reporters after his record-setting performance.
“I didn’t want to be the second-best athlete in my family,” he said, per the SEC Network.
