Ole Miss coach Lane Kiffin made headlines Monday when he revealed in his weekly press conference that he wasn’t sure if star quarterback Matt Corral would be able to play Saturday against LSU.

Corral, one of the frontrunners for the 2021 Heisman Trophy, has been tremendous for the No. 12 Rebels, and if he’s unable to go after being injured late in the 4th quarter at Tennessee on Saturday night it would be a huge blow.

LSU coach Ed Orgeron, however, made it clear Monday when informed of what Kiffin had to say about Corral that he fully expects the star QB to play.

Said Orgeron: “Knowing Coach Kiffin, he’s throwing me a smoke screen.”

Corral, a junior from Pasadena, California, has passed for 1,728 yards, 14 touchdowns, and just 1 interception this season, while also adding 450 yards and 8 TDs on the ground.

The 5-1 Rebels will be at home Saturday for their game with the Tigers, which will televised by CBS Sports at 3:30 p.m. EST.
