Micah Baskerville, a senior linebacker at LSU, has announced his plans for the 2022 season.

Baskerville, originally from Shreveport, Louisiana, has appeared in 40 games and logged 171 tackles in a career that began in 2018, passed up the chance to enter the 2022 NFL Draft and will return and get his degree, he announced on Instagram.

“I am going to come back, graduate, and help Coach Kelly and the rest of the staff get the Tigers back to where we’re supposed to be – at the top,” Baskerville wrote.

Baskerville became a regular starter during his junior season in 2020 when he started in 7 of 8 games, and then started the final 20 games he played in. As a senior this past season, Baskerville was second on the team with 83 tackles with 9 tackles for loss, a pair of sacks, an interception and three passes broken up.

Over the course of his career, the 6-foot-2, 223-pounder tallied 171 stops with 18 behind the line of scrimmage in 40 contests and 21 starts.

Coming out of high school, Baskerville was a 4-star prospect per 247Sports and ranked as the top inside linebacker in the state of Louisiana and No. 6 in the nation by 247Sports.
