UPDATE: Ed Orgeron has confirmed that Michael Divinity has left the team for “personal reasons.”

LSU certainly didn’t need this distraction heading into Alabama week.

The latest news out of Baton Rouge is that starting linebacker Michael Divinity is no longer with the team as the Tigers prepare for the biggest game of the season with a trip to Alabama looming for Ed Orgeron’s team.

This news was first reported by Brody Miller of The Athletic.

The senior linebacker was one of the team leaders for the Tigers this season after starting 11 games last season. Entering the 2019 season, Divinity had appeared in 32 games for the Tigers.

Divinity had been banged up at times this season but was LSU’s leading tackler against Texas, he made 10 stops in that contest.
