New LSU AD Scott Woodward comments on Will Wade’s future with the Tigers

The LSU Tigers suspended coach Will Wade during the SEC Tournament and NCAA Tournament this year after he was allegedly caught on tape discussing payments for players.
A recent federal court trial also didn’t do Wade any favors, even though he has since been reinstated by the LSU administration.
After the reinstatement, LSU hired a new AD in former Texas A&M AD Scott Woodward. On Monday, Woodward went on a local radio show and reiterated that Wade was still the coach and would be until something changed:
#LSU AD Scott Woodward on with @MattMoscona about Will Wade:
“Like I said in my press conference, Will Wade’s our coach, and we will let it be that way until it’s not. I hope he’s our coach for a long time.”— Brooks Kubena (@BKubena) May 6, 2019
With all the evidence that came out in court over the past couple of weeks, Wade’s status at LSU is a bit surprising.
However, it also seems that schools have learned not to cooperate with the NCAA, so we’ll see where things go from here in Baton Rouge.
