Jalen Mills has joined the growing movement of free agents headed to New England eager to help Bill Belichick and the Patriots return to the NFL playoffs.

The former LSU defensive back became the fourth NFL free agent to find a home in New England on Monday — Mills joins Jonnu Smith, Davon Godchaux, Trent Brown as recent pickups for the Patriots — agreeing to a four-year deal worth as much as $24 million with a $9 million guarantee at signing according to ESPN’s Adam Schefter.

Prior to this, Mills has spent his entire NFL career in Philadephia. After being selected by the Eagles in the 7th round of the 2016 NFL Draft, Mills has registered 283 tackles, defended 40 passes, made five interceptions and made 63 appearances, with 49 starts for the franchise.

Now he’ll be tasked with helping reshape a franchise that missed the playoff during the first post-Tom Brady season.
