Derrius Guice may have just taken a step closer to returning to the field this season in the NFL.

Guice was not on an NFL team last football season after being waived by the Washington Football Team leading up to the start of the 2020 season. Guice was released by the team after being charged with domestic violence.

Now comes word from DC that Guice and his accuser have reached a settlement, which has resulted in the charges against the running back being dropped according to The Washington Post.

The former LSU running back was initially charged with felony strangulation in addition to four misdemeanors for allegedly choking, pushing and destroying the cellphone of his then-girlfriend in a string of incidents that occurred during a six-month period in 2020.

These allegations are in addition to multiple allegations made against Guice stemming back to his time in Baton Rouge. LSU has since banned Guice and removed his stats from the program’s record book.
