No more Mr. Nice Guy? Ed Orgeron says he won’t be so hands off with the LSU defense this year

We obviously know now that LSU’s defense didn’t perform so great under DC Bo Pelini in 2020.
But, apparently, head coach Ed Orgeron wasn’t heavily involved in the defensive planning last season. That won’t be the case any longer.
On Tuesday night, Coach O said he’s going to rely on his experience and, if he sees something he doesn’t like, he’s going to put a stop to it:
Coach O says he's coached defense 40 years but kind of was hands off last year. Not this year. If he sees something he doesn't like they're not going to do it. #LSU

It sounds like new DC Daronte Jones is going to have to deal with a much more hands-on Coach O.
We’ll see if that leads to a better performance on that side of the ball or if the Tigers’ struggles together.
