The Odell Beckham Jr. situation in Cleveland has taken a turn. According to multiple reports, Beckham is not currently part of the team when it comes to his status with the Browns.
Beckham has been “excused” from practice and is not expected to play for Cleveland again this season.
Earlier today, Browns coach Kevin Stefanski told his players that Odell Beckham Jr. is essentially not on the team right now and that the WR has been told to stay at home.

The Associated Press details that Beckham has been the subject of recent social media drama. On Tuesday, ahead of the NFL trade deadline, Beckham’s father, Odell Beckham Sr., shared an 11-minute video titled “Odell Beckham is Always Open for the Cleveland Browns in 2021” on Instagram. Lebron James then got involved, tweeting “OBJ will show again why he’s special. WR1 #FreeOBJ.”
Even though Beckham is not with the team, Cleveland is reportedly not looking to release him even at the cost of a 53-man roster spot.
Browns/OBJ may be able to reach some sort of financial resolution to end his time in Cleveland but as of now team not willing to waive him, and is willing to burn a 53-man roster spot just for him to stay away and excuse him indefinitely. Thats a new one for me. This isn’t over
