Orgeron hopeful he can ultimately become head coach at LSU
Making an appearance on ‘The Paul Finebaum Show’ Monday, LSU interim head coach Ed Orgeron spoke about his current position within the program — and what it’d ultimately take for him to be named as the full-time man in charge:

Speculating about Orgeron’s future in Baton Rouge is merely conjecture at this point. There’s truly no telling as to which direction the LSU administration will go.
Houston head coach Tom Herman has been consistently been bandied about as the rumored top-choice for the job. Other names such as Jimbo Fisher, Art Briles, Dan Mullen, and Jim Mora have also been mentioned.
As for Orgeron, he’s known as a fantastic recruiter and teacher of the game — particularly when it comes to the defensive line. He’s also a native of Louisiana, and is certainly someone who can resonate with the general populous within the state.
However, he’d likely need to reach the conference title game — whilst also beating Alabama in the process — for any shot at retaining the job in a full-time capacity.
It certainly will be a fascinating storyline to watch going forward.
