It’s that time of year again, as both LSU and Florida will lay claim the title of DBU with the season approaching.

Judging from a picture posted by junior running back Leonard Fournette on Wednesday, it’s clear who he gives the title to:

Expect Florida to fire back with a response to its annual SEC cross-division opponent before long. Social media posts aside, which team should be expected to have the best secondary in 2016?

According to the media’s preseason All-SEC selections, both schools enter the season with two selections in the defensive backfield: Tre’Davious White (first-team selection) and Jamal Adams (second-team selection) for the Tigers and Jalen Tabor (first-team selection) and Marcus Maye (third-team selection) for the Gators. Safe to say, it’s a pretty even split heading into the season.

In 2015, Florida ranked No. 4 in the SEC in pass defense, while LSU ranked No. 12. Of course the Gators no longer have Vernon Hargreaves or Keanu Neal while LSU returns seven of its top eight defensive backs from last season.
