Photos: LSU shows off its new $2.5 million weight room renovation

LSU is getting an upgraded weight room experience this season. The team’s official Twitter account shared photos on Monday announcing the completion of the $2.5 million project.
The new facility includes the following features, according to an article from The Advocate in April when construction began:
- Brand new weights, dumbbell sets, weight racks, lifting machine and cardio machines (triple the previous amount).
- Two 10-foot LED screens that can sync to an iPad
- Medical-ball wall
- Second bathroom
- Larger storage unit
- A new office
- Up to 30 televisions
- Five-zone directional speaker system
- Thicker, softer floor
The old set of weights used by the football team will replace a 20-year old set in the north end zone weight room of Tiger Stadium, a facility used by the softball, basketball, tennis, gold, and swimming and diving teams.
