The LSU Tigers may have failed to reach 10 wins in 2015, going 9-3 overall, but Les Miles still made a hefty sum away from the football field. According to theadvocate.com and public records, Miles made more than $230,000 in athletically related outside income in 2015, including more than $190,000 on television appearances and commercials.

Last year, just from Raising Cane’s – a popular Baton Rouge-based chicken finger restaurant  – Miles made $168,000. He also made $36,000 in speaking engagement fees, thanks to Caterpillar Inc., a California-based construction manufacturer.

Professional athletes across the country also rake in money with shoe deals, something Miles isn’t left out on either, making $3,000 for shoe endorsements with Nike. Even SiriusXM landed him $3,000 for radio appearances.

In 2015, Miles made a salary of $4.3 million and earned another $100,000 as a bonus for leading the Tigers to a bowl game. With this outside income reported, the head coach made at least $4.6 million last year.

“His exact total of outside income – $237,388 – far exceeds what he made in 2014 ($88,721) and 2013 ($69,582),” said Ross Delenger, of theadvocate.com. “Miles made $159,363 in 2012, with $62,500 of that coming from EA Sports, producer of the now-defunct NCAA college football video game.”

It must be nice bringing in millions on the field and even hundreds of thousands more off of it. In the past two seasons, Miles has led the Tigers to a 17-8 overall record.
