SEC football fans are among the most passionate anywhere in the United States — regardless of sport.

The ardent passion these fan bases display on a weekly basis is truly spectacular. However, one LSU fan has gone way overboard.

According to a report from The Advocate, LSU head coach Les Miles received a very threatening email following the 16-14 loss to Wisconsin. Racist undertones against QB Brandon Harris were present in the message, and it was followed up with this sentiment: “I hope they fire your stupid (butt) or you die.”

In addition, AD Joe Alleva and president F. King Alexander received more than 60 emails vocalizing the desire for Miles to be relieved of his duties.

There’s absolutely no reason, justification, or rationale for the death threat. However, it’s just another example of the continuing pressure mounting on both Miles and the football program.
