The SEC has announced that LSU is heading to Florida this bowl season to play in the Citrus Bowl.

College football insider Brett McMurphy was the first to break the news that LSU and Notre Dame will play in the 2018 Citrus Bowl.

The game will be held on January 1 at 1:00 pm ET in Orlando, Florida. The game will be televised on ABC.

The Tigers and Irish both finished the season 9-3, and it should be a fun matchup between two good teams.

The Citrus Bowl has tie-ins with the SEC and Big Ten.

Last season, LSU defeated Louisville and Heisman Trophy-winning QB Lamar Jackson in the Citrus Bowl 29-9.
