The LSU Tigers brought in former Nebraska and Youngstown State head coach Bo Pelini this offseason to take over for Dave Aranda as defensive coordinator.

However, the year didn’t go according to plan for Pelini or the Tigers, as the defense struggled mightily.

Now, according to AL.com’s Matt Zenitz, the Tigers aren’t expected to retain Pelini for the 2021 season:

LSU finished the season strong, putting together a 5-5 overall record. But, the Tigers were No. 13 in the SEC in both total defense and pass defense.

Where LSU turns next for the defensive coordinator spot remains to be seen, but the Tigers clearly expect to have an elite defense again in 2021.
