It’s good to be a coordinator in the SEC.

New LSU defensive coordinator Dave Aranda is making bank. According to Ross Dellenger of The Advocate, Aranda received a three-year, $3.75 million deal, including $165,000 up front. $65,000 of the up-front cash was for his Wisconsin buyout.

Aranda’s final contract approval by the LSU Board of Supervisors is January 29. Assuming it will be approved, Aranda would have the longest contract of any LSU assistant, which ends on March 31, 2019.

Aranda was hired to replace former coordinator Kevin Steele, who left for Auburn.
