LSU’s leading receiver Terrace Marshall, who led the FBS in touchdown catches with six entering play on Saturday, left the Vanderbilt game with what’s since been described as a stress fracture. He was seen on crutches after the game.

But Marshall already is on the road to recovery, according to a tweet from him.

“Surgery went well. I’m good, be back soon. God get all the glory.”

His specific timetable for return is unknown, but it’s expected to be at least a few weeks.

Marshall had four catches for 75 yards in the 66-38 win over Vanderbilt, including one catch of 29 yards.

This shaped up to be a big season for Marshall after he played in all 13 games in 2018 with one start. He caught 12 passes for 192 yards, including catches of 52 yards against Ole Miss and 37 yards against Georgia.

He had three TDs against Georgia Southern, one against Texas and two against Northwestern State. Overall, he has 20 receptions for 304 yards. His six touchdowns put him in a six-way tie for second in the country, behind Easop Winston of Washington State, who has eight.
