Todd McShay has come out with his Mock Draft 2.0, and it includes LSU star cornerback Derek Stingley Jr. as a top-10 selection.

Stingley is an interesting prospect because he’s coming off of foot surgery which cut short his 2021 season, as he only played in 3 games. However, his potential, and flashes of talent particularly as a freshman make him an intriguing option for NFL teams. In the 2019 national championship season, he was a key figure, and also was first-team All-SEC in each of his first 2 seasons at LSU.

McShay had the New York Jets taking LSU cornerback Derek Stingley at No. 10 and explained how Stingley will be viewed in NFL Draft war rooms.

“If you go back to 2019 and study his tape,” McShay said, “he might have the highest grade of any player in this draft, that’s how good he was. A shut down cover corner, 6 interceptions as a freshman that year. But the last 2 years they fell apart at LSU, he had some injuries, only played in 10 games, so there’s a lot of debates in war rooms throughout the NFL right now, where does Stingley belong. But I think if he turns it back on, he could be the best cornerback in this draft when it’s all said and done.”
