LSU played some big boy football at Thursday’s practice, lining up for an old-fashioned “Big Cat” drill.
Luckily for us, some of the media members who cover the team sent out some video of the drill on Twitter. If you’re jonesing for some pad-popping and can’t wait until August — or even until the spring games — this should whet your appetite.

Aside from the entertaining drill, there were a few news tidbits to emerge from the practice. DE Deondre Clark, a potential starter, sat out for the second consecutive session with a patch covering his eye after a team spokesman told the media that he got poked. S Corey Thompson is out indefinitely after some lingering knee issues post-ACL surgery.
DT Frank Herron also did not participate Thursday, while DB Dwayne Thomas and TE Colin Jeter wore green no-contact jerseys.
We also continue to get a glimpse at what appears to be the current first-team offensive and defensive lines. K.J. Malone and Will Clapp appear to be sharing first-team reps at left guard depending on the day.
